To earn guaranteed admission to Ithaca College through the Direct Transfer Pathway, during your time with Verto you will need:
- 2.7+ GPA
- Minimum 12 credits
We are not able to accommodate students interested in majors in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance for the Direct Transfer guarantee.
Students interested in these majors must apply by December 1 using The Common Application for Transfer Students. They must also submit any required pre-screen materials through Acceptd by December 1. These are fall-start only programs and require specific course sequencing, meaning students would have 4 years as a student at Ithaca College after their Verto experience. For more information, contact Ithaca College Admission.
Students interested in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Exercise Science/Athletic Training are not eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee, however, we encourage you to submit a Verto Partner Application to be considered for holistic admission.
Yes! Ithaca College welcomes both fall and spring transfers from Verto. Please note, however, that some programs may be fall start only. Please see the question on What programs are not included? for more details.
While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Partner Application for holistic review.
Your cumulative GPA (prior to Verto and earned during your Verto experience) must be 2.7 or higher to be eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee. You must also earn 12 credits during your time abroad with Verto.
If your cumulative GPA across all transcripts is under 2.7, you won’t be eligible for the guarantee. However, we encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Partner Application for holistic review.
Homeschool students are eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee. They would need to meet our requirements for homeschooled students. Students who are homeschooled must submit either an SAT or ACT. This also applies to students whose high schools provide narrative transcripts or those without standard grading practice. You can find out requirements for homeschooled students on our website.
Students who have a GED are eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee. Ithaca College would need an official GED sent from the office which has confirmed/awarded the GED. If questions arise, please contact Ithaca College for a conversation.
IC welcomes international students that participate in Verto to apply directly through the Common Application for holistic review. More information on the application process and admissions requirements can be found here.
Questions about the application process should be directed to your Verto Care Team. If you have Ithaca College specific questions, connect with Joan Hurley, Assistant Director of Admission.
Once you arrive to your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to IC. Applications are typically sent following mid-terms, so your mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility.
Once you submit your Verto Partner Application and it is received by Ithaca College, you will receive an email acknowledgement confirming receipt of the application. In that acknowledgement email you will be given information on how to access your IC Connect portal. Please activate the portal.
You will also be part of our regular communication stream about your application.
In your portal you will see an application checklist which shows which documents we have received.
When a decision has been made on your application, you will receive an email encouraging you to enter your portal to see your decision (Admitted students will also receive an admission packet mailed to their home address.)
You must view your decision in your portal should you wish to submit a deposit to confirm your enrollment.
Once an admission decision has been made, and your FAFSA has been received by Ithaca College, the Student Financial Services office will generate a financial aid award for you. This be available to view in your IC Connect portal. If you would like to discussion your financial aid award, you can schedule an appointment with Student Financial Services in your portal.
