About the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
The University of Tennessee’s campus is as vibrant as the distinctive orange our Volunteer family loves. With more than 360 undergraduate programs, thousands of student organizations, a lively downtown, and a rugged wilderness—all nestled on the banks of the Tennessee River—you can easily find your place in Big Orange Country. Our students earn a quality degree from internationally-recognized faculty at a fraction of the cost. In fact, more than 80 percent of our students are either in graduate school or have started their careers six months after graduation. Around 50 percent of our students graduate with no debt, and for those who do, their debt is well below the national average. As Volunteers, service is at the heart of everyone on campus. UT offers service learning courses that put volunteer action as the basis of class. When you come to UT, you leave with more than just a degree; you leave with an experience that shapes who you are… a Volunteer.

UT is Part of Verto’s Direct Transfer Program
Through Verto’s Direct Transfer Program, you can gain admission to UT based on your academic performance with the courses delivered by the Academic Provider during your Verto study abroad experience. While admission will depend on UT’s availability and is ultimately up to their discretion, this route tends to give Verto participants who meet the college’s academic criteria a higher chance of admission and a fast-tracked application.
Partnering with the Verto program has given future Volunteers the opportunity to study abroad before ever coming to the University of Tennessee. We are excited to welcome Verto students to our campus, where we truly embrace what it means to be a Volunteer and light the way for others through education and service.
