One in 15 incoming Lycoming College students each year is a transfer student, and our admissions team works diligently with our academic services deans and faculty to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition.
Lycoming College offers more than $36M in scholarships and grants annually. Applicants are automatically considered for merit awards ranging from $25,000 to $36,000 based on the individual assessment of their high school and/or collegiate performance.
With 88% of students living on campus, Lycoming is an active community where students can uncover the best version of themselves. One-third of students participate in our 19 NCAA Division III sports teams. Lycoming also has 60+ student-run clubs and organizations, opportunities for service, and an Outdoor Leadership & Education program.
As a residential college, Lycoming students live on campus all four years. There are a variety of housing options, from residence halls and apartments to affinity communities that share common interests like cooking or STEM.
Lycoming students can choose from 100+ locations to study abroad for a semester or over the summer. Additionally, we offer several May Term travel courses that combine classroom learning with shorter group travel experiences.
To earn guaranteed admission through the Direct Transfer Pathway, during your time with Verto you will need:

Students are admitted to the college and not directly into majors.
Yes! Lycoming welcomes both fall and spring transfers from Verto.
While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Partner Application for holistic review.
You are still eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee to Lycoming! The 2.5 GPA requirement is cumulative of all college transcripts.
Homeschooled students are eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee so as long as they have state or organization licensure to prove accredited programming. Lycoming does not accept the GED.
All transcripts and certificates must be official and must be translated into English. If you’ve attended more than one school, request a separate transcript from each school. Transfer students must also submit their college or university transcripts to World Education Services (WES) for an evaluation of coursework. Transcripts should be mailed to:

Lycoming requires submission of one of the following assessments: TOEFL IBT (minimum score 70); TOEFL PBT (minimum score 525); IELTS (minimum overall band score 6.0); Pearson English Test -PTE Academic (minimum score 50) or Duolingo English Test – DET (minimum score 100), unless you live in an English-speaking country. Lycoming’s TOEFL school code is 2372. You may also submit the SAT or ACT assessment in lieu of an English proficiency exam.
International students planning to attend with an F-1 or J-1 visa will be required to submit proof of financial support. Students must complete and return the Financial Disclosure Form and an official bank statement (translated into English, if necessary) verifying adequate available funds prior to being considered for admission. An I-20 form will not be issued by the Office of Admissions until a verification of funds to cover each year of study has been received, the student has been admitted, and the student has paid their confirmation deposit. Recommendation letters are an excellent way to boost an application, but are not required for international applicants.

Once you arrive to your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to Lycoming. Applications are typically sent following mid-terms, so your mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility.
Once students submit their application to Lycoming, they will receive instant communication and access to an applicant portal to track their progress.

The conditional admission can be deferred upon the $300 enrollment deposit being received. You will need to communicate your desire to defer to Lycoming post deposit.
If you are not yet ready to deposit and defer, work with your Verto Care Team to submit a new application for the new term of entry during your second semester abroad.
