About Duquesne University

At Duquesne, students gain the professional confidence, impressive experience, and powerful networks they need to get a running start on a meaningful career. Duquesne students choose from 80 future-focused undergraduate majors, leading to bachelor’s master’s and doctoral degrees in business, education, health sciences, liberal arts, music, natural and environmental sciences, nursing and pharmacy. Students can also participate in Pre-Medical and Health Professions, Pre-Law, and Honors College programs. The University will open the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2024. Duquesne is recognized nationally for academics, outcomes and value, including as a best value university, #6 in PA and #65 nationally (2022 US News), as well as recognized by Forbes as a Best Value and Money Magazine as a Best College for Your Money. Additionally, Niche awarded Duquesne an A+ for Best College Locations and an A for Value for 2022. Students are a community of approximately 8,500 students who represent diverse cultural, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds from every state and 50 countries. Students take classes on a best of both worlds campus: park-like and located next to Pittsburgh’s thriving cultural and business district. Duquesne’s central location provides a perfect laboratory for community engagement and practical experience through fieldwork, research projects and internships at major corporations, healthcare systems, schools and other organizations. Students also enjoy walking to Pittsburgh’s cultural district, sports stadiums, shopping, dining and parks. Duquesne has 16 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s teams; students get into most games free with DU ID. Students can choose from more than 250 student organizations, clubs, and intramurals. More than thirty-five study abroad programs are available, including Duquesne campuses in Rome and Dublin. Drawing on our 140-year Catholic Spiritan heritage, we promise you an education that’s exactly what you need, and more than you could ever have imagined.
