ACADEMICS
Bentley’s future-focused curriculum ensures that you will acquire the essential communications, problem solving, teamwork and digital literacy skills before embarking on an academic journey that you chart for yourself. The unique flexibility built into a Bentley education allows you to explore dozens of exciting business and liberal arts combinations, pursuing your passions in depth and pairing unique majors/minors to craft your future career.
Unique combinations could include Finance and Psychology, Accounting and Computer Information Systems, AI and Creative Industries, Marketing and Film and Media Studies. The options are endless.
TRANSFER STUDENT SUPPORT
Incoming transfer students will benefit from an array of resources the summer before they arrive, including outreach from Academic Advising, Admission, and Career Services. Once on campus, transfer students will take part in Transfer Seminar – a course designed to ensure the academic and social success for transfer students as they navigate their new campus.
FINANCES
All transfer students will automatically be considered for merit scholarships upon admission to the university – no application needed! Additionally, US Citizens and permanent residents interested in applying for financial aid will have a dedicated financial aid counselor to assist them in the application process, and understanding the financial aid package once their application is complete.

STUDENT LIFE
There are more than 100 student organizations and 200 campus events every year for students to join. Bentley also offers a robust club sports and intramurals program, fraternities/sororities, service learning programs, and a vibrant Student Center with the 921 dining hall, game area, club offices, Harry’s Pub and more.
Housing is guaranteed for all incoming transfer students who complete their application by the admission deadline and submit their enrollment and housing deposits by the deadline outlined in their admit letter.
Bentley University realizes the importance of global education, and transfer students are encouraged to inquire about what programs may be eligible for them. These experiences range from semester and year-long abroad programs at exchange partners, to short-term experiences abroad over academic breaks. If you want to go back abroad after Verto, you will have no shortage of opportunities available.
To earn guaranteed admission to Bentley through the Direct Transfer Pathway, during your time with Verto you will need:
- 3.2+ cumulative GPA over two semesters
- 24+ credits required
- No course below a B-
- Must earn a B- or higher in these courses
- Statistics
- Academic Inquiry
- Microeconomics
- Good community standing
- Qualifying ELP score if English is not your first language
Applicants are admitted to Bentley University, as opposed to a specific academic program or department. Those entering as transfer students are expected to declare a major by the end of their sophomore year.
Students interested in the following majors will need to complete Calculus with a final grade of B- or higher to be eligible:
- Data Analytics
- Mathematical Sciences
- Actuarial Sciences
- Quantitative Economics
Yes! Bentley welcomes both fall and spring transfers from Verto, though students must have completed a full year through Verto to be eligible for the Direct Transfer Guarantee.
If you are interested in applying to Bentley after just one semester abroad, you may submit the Direct Transfer Application for holistic review.
While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Direct Transfer Application for holistic review.
You are still eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee to Bentley as long as you meet all conditions during your time at Verto.
You can complete 2 or 3 semesters abroad with Verto and remain eligible for the Direct Transfer pathway to Bentley.
Yes, you are eligible for the Direct Transfer Pathway. You will need to submit proof of high school graduation, whether that is through your local or state Department of Education, or documented elsewhere.
Yes, international students are eligible for the Direct Transfer Pathway. Please note that if English is not your first language, you will need to submit qualifying ELP scores to be eligible for Direct Transfer. A breakdown of our ELP requirements can be found here.

Once you arrive to your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to Bentley. Applications are typically sent following mid-terms, so your mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility.
The following documents will need to be included in your Verto Direct Transfer Application packet to Bentley :
- Verto to provide from their records:
- Final High School Transcript
- Mid-term Report for your current Verto semester
- Unofficial University of New Haven final transcript for any prior Verto semesters
- University of New Haven College Transfer Report Letter
- Student to submit to Verto for inclusion:
- Unofficial college transcripts from any pre-Verto college coursework
- Qualifying ELP score if English is not your first language
You’ll work with Verto staff to submit an updated Direct Transfer Application during your final semester abroad.
You will receive instructions for your BentleyConnect portal log-in within three business days of Bentley receiving your application from Verto. Once all your application materials are submitted and marked as “received” on your BentleyConnect portal, you will receive an official admission decision, along with any relevant scholarship information, within two weeks.
