To smoothly take-off for your Verto abroad experience, complete your full Onboarding Checklist in the Student Portal — critical dates and deadlines are approaching! Below are your “top of the list” to-do’s:

Apply for or Renew Passport
All students must have a valid passport in-hand and uploaded to the Student Portal ASAP. Follow our Passport Guide on how to apply for or renew your passport.
Apply for Visa
All US Passport holders heading to Italy or Spain require a student visa — read the Visa Guide below and speak with your Student Onboarding Advisor for your visa application options.


Book Your Flight
Ensure your flight itinerary is booked and submit your flight details in the Student Portal by December 15. You will have access to arrival instructions closer to the start date of the experience.
Pay Tuition Balance or Set Up Payment Plan
Your billing statement is available via MyCharger on November 20. Payment plan must be setup by December 1. MyCharger access instructions will be sent to your personal email account. See access details below.

Within 1-2 weeks of enrolling, receive login details to personal inbox and setup UNewHaven email account via step-by-step instructions
eBill Statement ready via MyCharger — login details email to your UNewHaven inbox
Optional Payment Plan opens in MyCharger – Must setup by December 1, 2023
Cancellation Deadline — be sure to read the Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Policy
First payment of Payment Plan due in MyCharger (if applicable)
If no Payment Plan is setup, eBill Statement is due in full via MyCharger

Academics
Email your Unofficial High School Transcript to [email protected]
If you have graduated highschool, have your high school or 3rd party provider (e.g. Parchment.com) send your official high school transcript to [email protected]. This can not come directly from the student. If you have not yet completed highschool, you should email your in-progress high school transcript directly.
Within one week of high school graduation, speak to your High School Counselor for where to request AP/IB/DE grades for delivery to Verto Education by December 15 (if applicable)
Once we receive your student ID number from the University of New Haven, you will receive an email to personal inbox with login credentials to Canvas to complete placement exams in PACE. PACE will open on October 23, 2023
Register for courses in Course Registration Portal. To gain login access, email your unofficial high school transcript to: [email protected]
Official high school transcript due from your high school or Parchment.com
Dual Enrollment Transcript due (if applicable)

Submit request for Academic Accommodations in MyCharger (if applicable)

Upcoming Events
All incoming Vertoans must attend all three virtual Pre-Departure Orientation sessions prior to their study abroad experience—the Global Orientation, Location Orientation, and Care Team Hangout.
If your pathway to Verto included an invitation from one of our partner colleges, you may be invited to an additional required event to cover details for a smooth transition back to your university after studying abroad.
Get to know your Verto Community even before touching down in your abroad location! Meet fellow Vertoans and enter a raffle for prizes at additional community events offered in the Events section of the Student Portal.
