Verto Education’s International Student Pathway is an academic program designed to prepare non-U.S. students for guaranteed transfer admission* to top U.S. institutions after a successful first year abroad experience in Seville, Spain, and London, England.
Through Verto’s Direct Transfer Admissions Pathway, students unlock access to 40+ colleges and universities.
Program Details
A YEAR ABROAD IN SEVILLE & LONDON
Students begin with the fall semester in Spain, followed by the spring semester in England. As a Verto participant, you’ll join a global first-year abroad community of students eager to gain new world perspectives and expand their academic opportunities.

The pricing for the International Student Pathway varies based on location. In order to ensure a superior student experience and provide additional programming and support services, the International Student Pathway incurs an additional $2,500 USD administrative fee for non-U.S. citizens/non-U.S. permanent residents (in addition to standard program fees).

Seville, Spain
Study abroad in Spain and immerse yourself in Seville’s vibrant energy and historic sights.
Total Program Fee: $25,000 USD (per semester, inclusive of admin fee)
What’s Included:
- Accommodations: Homestay with a local host family or live with other students in shared residences
- Meals: Three daily meals
- Program Events & Excursions: Sample excursions include day trips to towns like Córdoba or Cádiz, and an overnight trip to Málaga or Morocco (subject to change)

London, England
Experience the excitement of London, where every day brings new adventures and iconic landmarks.
Total Program Fee: $36,000 USD (per semester, inclusive of admin fee)
What’s Included:
- Accommodations: Live with other students in shared residences
- Meals: Meal plan available for an added cost
- Program Events & Excursions: Sample excursions include day trips to Brighton, Cambridge, or Oxford, and an overnight trip to Edinburgh or Dublin (subject to change)

Scholarships and Financial Aid: International students are not eligible for any Verto-specific scholarships or discounts.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the International Student Pathway, applicants must first submit the free Verto application and meet the following general requirements:
REQUIREMENTS Include:
Academic Transcripts
Students must submit official transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions attended, with a demonstrated 2.0+ GPA on a 4-point scale at the time of application. Transcripts in languages other than English must be professionally translated and converted to a standard GPA scale.
Passport
Students must have a valid passport with at least one year validity beyond the program end date.
Visa
Students must provide proof of a valid visa. Those without a U.S. passport may have different visa requirements for entry into the host country. It is the student’s responsibility to research and secure the appropriate visa based on the host country’s immigration policies.
Note: Students must return home immediately upon completion of the fall semester to ensure ample time to apply for and obtain legal documents for travel in advance of the spring semester program start date.
English Language Proficiency
Students whose first language is not English must provide official documentation showing English proficiency that meets or exceeds the stated scores:
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum overall score of 70
- IELTS Academic: Minimum overall score of 6.0
- Duolingo: 100
Programming & Academics
PRE- & POST-ARRIVAL SUPPORT
- Dedicated Visa Application Assistance: International Pathway participants will receive proactive guidance and support for the student visa application process for Seville and London programs.
- Dedicated Student On-Boarding Advisor: All Verto participants will be paired with an experienced on-boarding advisor who is specialized in the support of international students, including expertise in both the Seville and London programs to ensure a smooth transition to Verto.
- Dedicated Pre-Departure Webinars: Events for all Verto participants to help prepare and support them ahead of their Verto study abroad experience.
- 24/7 Emergency Support: All Verto participants receive 24/7 on-site emergency phone support from a trained team throughout the semester.
academic Support
All Verto participants receive comprehensive support and benefits, including courses taught by highly trained, global faculty with experience teaching and supporting international students, personalized academic advising and progress tracking, and tailored post-Verto planning assistance to prepare you to transition to your university after Verto. In addition, International Pathway students benefit from additional programming and support resources:
- Student Success Course (SDEV): International Pathway students will participate in a one-credit-hour course developed to support students, focused on building key academic skills and understanding the expectations of the U.S. higher education system.
- Customized English-Language Curriculum: Students will have a list of classes in Math, Science, English, and other subjects to choose from (with some required coursework) and will complete key general education requirements that transfer to Verto partners. Classes have low faculty-to-student ratios to provide personalized support, often with fewer than 20 students per class.
- English Proficiency Advancement: Students will have access to select courses with an instructional focus on academic reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. They will also benefit from additional weekly workshops, conversation exchange, and study sessions to enhance learning and English proficiency.
- Tutoring and Learning Support Services: Students will have access to key staff who are trained in supporting international students. Services include weekly tutoring, writing coaching and support, math tutoring, peer-led study groups and tutoring, faculty office hours, course-specific review sessions, and more.
SOCIAL INTEGRATION
- Personalized Student Success, Wellness, and Holistic Student Support: Students benefit from low staff-to-student ratios to ensure they receive ongoing, personalized support from experienced staff who understand the academic and social well-being needs of international students. (Verto Care Teams typically have up to 30 students per Team)
- Cultural and Language Exchange Events: Students have access to regular events and activities designed to foster cross-cultural understanding, language practice, social connections between domestic and international students, and engagement in the local community.
- Monthly Seminars: Students will be able to attend seminars focused on learning about the U.S. Higher Education experience.
- Orientation Week: This dynamic week sets the tone for the semester by providing students with program and academic resources, reviewing important academic policies and expectations, and discussing local customs and student life. International students will have access to customized sessions and guidance to support their understanding of U.S. higher education.
- Verto Buddies Program: International students will have the chance to connect with an American student who has similar interests before arrival, fostering connections, and supporting the overall abroad experience.
