Position Description:
The Assistant Student Success Manager for Residence Life is responsible for supervising the life and wellbeing of Verto students in the program housing, the housing search, housing placements in collaboration with appropriate Verto departments, and is the liaison for the communication between students and third-party housing providers on site in case of maintenance requests or concerns.
This is a full-time position that requires frequent and purposeful interactions with students in a variety of settings, with a specific focus on student housing facilities, assuring students’ safety and compliance with the Verto Housing Policy. The Asst. SSM will report to Director of Student Success and will take primary responsibility for student conduct cases specifically related to housing/logistics reporting and escalating them when necessary.
The Asst. SSM is responsible to plan all activities pertaining to check-in and check-out of students’ housing and to coordinate student success staff during these procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage housing search and housing placements in collaboration with appropriate Verto departments and local third-party providers
- Oversee housing placements, roommate matching, and conflict resolution.
- Leads/facilitates accountability processes for incidents related to housing violations.
- Develop programming that fosters community building and student engagement.
- Serve as a resource for students facing housing challenges or personal concerns.
- Collaborate with student leaders, housing agencies, and others to improve the residential living experience.
- Coordinate room checks with housing agencies and advisors and communicate the process with staff and students.
- Lead the check in and check out processes, in collaboration with the Student Success leader onsite and the housing agencies.
- Be the liaison for the communication between students and third-party housing providers on site in case of maintenance requests or concerns.
- Assess students’ safety in housing and students’compliance with the Verto Housing Policy
- Take primary responsibility for student conduct cases specifically related to housing/logistics
- Is responsible for operational and administrative responsibilities related to the housing services.
- Participate in the review of the Housing Policy and provide meaningful insight on the students’ experience related to their housing.
- Participate in the emergency phone rotation and extracurricular activities or excursions if necessary.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required- Masters preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in higher education, student affairs and housing management.
- A passion for learning, experiential education, diversity, inclusivity, travel, global citizenship and, most importantly, for helping students grow and succeed
- Ability to work independently
- Strong computer skills, including Google suite and Microsoft suites, to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Priority will be given to those candidates who have experience with residence life and/or student housing and to those who experience working with culturally, ethnically, socioeconomically, and linguistically diverse students and demonstrated ability to foster relationships with underrepresented students.
- Well versed in data management to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data, and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
