The Foundations of our Verto Community
Prior to your Spring 2026 study abroad experience, attend Pre-Departure Orientation
There are 2 required parts:

- Pre-Departure Events: Attendance required, read below.
- Onboarding Course. Completed in the fall semester? You’re done!
All students MUST complete their orientation to start their study abroad experience with Verto Education. Students RSVP for events via the Verto Community App Events Page or the Events below.
Plan to attend events with a computer, laptop or iPad (not a cell phone), ready to engage and meet your new community!
Pre-Departure Orientation Events

GLOBAL
1st Semester Students Only
Go over the student code of responsibility, learn about academic expectations, receive tips on health and safety, and more.

LOCATION
All Students
Learn about arrival logistics, location details / cultural insights, and ask questions to on-site staff.

HOUSING
All Students
Discover where you will be living by learning about your neighborhood, housing, and tips for community living.

CARE TEAM CIRCLE
All Students
Meet the Vertoans and Student Success Advisor who make up your Care Team. Make connections to your new community!
Housing Orientation
1 Session Required for all Vertoans; All events 12pm ET | 9am PT
Packing Recommendations | Housing and Roommate Expectations | Your Neighborhood and Commute | Living in Community
Family Pre-Departure Orientation
Highly Encouraged for All Families
During this Pre-Departure Orientation, Verto Families will meet with key Verto staff to share pre-departure preparations around the following topics:
- Travel preparation and health and safety best practices
- Communication processes and protocols; understanding understanding your student’s rights and privacy related to education/academic records (FERPA); and how to support your student during their transition
- Higher education process regarding housing, academics, and dietary accommodations
- Time for Q+A
