All Goucher students are assigned a Success Advisor, including transfer students. They will serve as the academic advisor until a major is declared when they will be assigned a faculty advisor in their program(s) of study. Success Advisors are the lead support in a student’s Success Team.
Students are assigned a Goucher Guide, a peer mentor, to ease the transition to campus life as a new student.
New students will participate in a full orientation when they arrive on campus that provides information specific to navigating their Goucher experience and welcomes them as a new member of the Goucher community.
All students who apply will automatically be considered for generous renewable merit scholarships ranging from $25,000-$40,000 per year. More information can be found on the Goucher Scholarship website.

In addition to a 2.75 minimum GPA and a minimum of 12 credits, students should also keep in mind the following eligibility requirements:
- All grades of C- or higher with no courses taken pass/fail
- If student transferred to Verto, those pre-Verto credits would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Yes! Goucher welcomes both fall and spring transfers from Verto.
While students that complete 3 semesters abroad through Verto are still eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee, there may be an impact on the graduation timeline. Given the highly structured nature of pre-health, natural science, and computer science major tracks, students interested in those should consult with Tina before going beyond 2 semesters with Verto.
All majors are applicable for the Verto to Goucher Pathway.
Pre-Health, Natural Science and Computer Science majors will have specific course sequencing requirements, however, studying through Verto is advantageous, since students who are Biology majors or following Pre-Health tracks can study abroad early on without disrupting the required science curriculum for following terms.

Yes, you are eligible for the pathway! Goucher welcomes applications from homeschooled students or students who obtained a GED. Applications are reviewed in the same manner as those from traditional high schools, and there are no special requirements that must be met to be considered.
Yes, but international students must show at least $30,000 USD per year in expected support for educational expenses.

Once you’ve arrived to your Verto program location, you’ll work with your Academic Success Coordinator to compile documentation and prepare your Verto partner application.
Following the submission of your Verto Application, you will receive an email within 2-3 days granting you access to your Goucher Admissions & Financial Aid Status portal, where you will be able to track the status of your application.

If international student: Applicants whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate language proficiency with recommended test scores of TOEFL (80ibt), IELTS (6.5), PTE (53), or Duolingo.
- Students who have completed post-secondary academic coursework outside of the United States at a non U.S. accredited institution must submit an official course-by-course transcript evaluation from an organization that is a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). A member list is available on the NACES website. The evaluation must be sent to the Admissions Office directly or emailed to [email protected].
