Sport Management

If you are interested in Sports Management spend a semester at Elon Charlotte.  The Sport Experience allows students to take classes, live and secure internships in North Carolina’s finance hub and robust sports industry.

Engineering

In fall 2026, Elon will transition the engineering and computer science departments in The School of Engineering and Computing, enhancing our commitment to STEM.  The new school will provide opportunities abound for both departments to work collaboratively and enhance current offerings in engineering with concentrations in biomedical, computing, environmental and mechanical engineering.

TRANSFER STUDENT SUPPORT

After enrollment, transfer students have access to a dedicated transfer advisor who works directly with you to select classes and review your graduation plan. The transfer advisor will remain with you as you make a formal major declaration. Your courses from your Verto experience will be evaluated and submitted to you via a formal evaluation detailing how your classes are transferred and the credits you have earned.

Finances

Transfer students who earn a minimum of 24 credit hours and have a GPA above a 3.0 are eligible for the Transfer Engagement Scholarships of up to $10,000 per year.  These merit scholarships are renewable each year.

Student Life

The best way to experience Elon is by living on campus.  We work with all incoming transfer students on appropriate housing that will help you acclimate to campus.  Incoming transfer students will live on campus and must complete the housing application after you have submitted your enrollment deposit.  The residence life team will place you in housing with other incoming transfer students or current students in your same year to help you navigate your first semester on campus.

Want to get involved quickly? Our students participate in more than 200 organizations, including student government, club sports teams, intramurals, religious and spiritual life groups and academic and special interest organizations. Elon’s busy cultural calendar features prominent public figures, academic scholars, music and performing arts groups, and many other cultural programs.  Though you have already studied abroad, global engagement is a central part of the Elon experience.  Consider studying aboard again, or utilizing one of our National Campus Programs.

To earn guaranteed admission through the Direct Transfer Pathway, during your time with Verto you will need:

  • 2.7+ GPA
  • Minimum 12 credits

Performing Arts, BFA Programs and the Nursing program are not included in the Direct Transfer Guarantee. These programs are not eligible for transfer students.

Yes! Elon welcomes both fall and spring transfers from Verto.

Elon’s Spring Term typically starts in February, so you’ll have a bit more time to finalize plans and complete next steps in between Verto and Elon.

Please note that students who complete 3 semesters abroad with Verto are still eligible for the guaranteed pathway, but it may impact graduation timeline.

While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Direct Transfer Application for holistic review.

You are still eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee to Elon! The 2.7 GPA requirement is cumulative of all college transcripts.

Yes, you can complete 1, 2, or 3 semesters abroad with Verto and remain eligible for the Direct Transfer pathway to Elon. Please note, however, that completing 3 semesters abroad with Verto may impact your graduation timeline.

Students interested in Elon and considering a 3rd semester abroad are encouraged to contact James Thurnes to discuss potential timeline impact as well as course selection for that 3rd semester.

You are still eligible for the Direct Transfer pathway to Elon! Please note, however, that Elon will need to receive your final grades from your time abroad before issuing an admissions decision.

Yes, international students are eligible for the Direct Transfer Guarantee.

Once you arrive to your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to Elon. Applications are typically sent following mid-terms, so your mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility.

After you have applied you will receive information on how to set up your Acorn Account.  This is how we will update you on your admission decision as well as important information in the enrollment process.  Our decisions are rolling so you can expect to have a decision within two to three weeks.

The following documents will need to be included in your Verto Direct Transfer Application packet to Elon:

  • Verto to provide from their records:
    • Final High School Transcript
    • Mid-term Report for your current Verto semester
    • Unofficial University of New Haven final transcript for any prior Verto semesters
