How does the
Direct Transfer Program Work?
Earn guaranteed admission to Verto’s Direct Transfer Partner Colleges through Verto’s free Partner Application.
Each Direct Transfer Partner has specific requirements for students to earn guaranteed admission through their Verto experience. If a college sparks your interest, but you’re worried about meeting their requirements for the Direct Transfer Guarantee, don’t be discouraged. While these partners offer conditional admission by meeting their specific Direct Transfer requirements, many also conduct a holistic and comprehensive review of applicants. Colleges are always looking to identify academically promising students who enhance their campus communities.
We are thrilled to extend an admission offer to Verto participants who meet our outlined eligibility requirements. This unique opportunity provides a global, transformative learning experience designed to help you begin your college journey on a high note. The curriculum encourages both personal growth and academic achievement, setting the stage for success at the University of Tennessee campus.

Our students earn a quality degree from internationally-recognized faculty at a fraction of the cost. In fact, more than 80 percent of our students are either in graduate school or have started their careers six months after graduation. Around 50 percent of our students graduate with no debt, and for those who do, their debt is well below the national average. As Volunteers, service is at the heart of everyone on campus. UT offers service learning courses that put volunteer action as the basis of class. TRANSFER STUDENT SUPPORT
All new students are required to attend orientation, and special sessions are held throughout the year for transfer students. During orientation, you will be advised and register for classes. Students will also have the support of the Division of Student Success.
FINANCES
College is a big investment, and we are ready to invest in your future! More than 80 percent of our students receive financial aid and scholarships from federal, state, and private sources. Contact One Stop for specific questions about financial aid and scholarships.
STUDENT LIFE
From your first step onto Rocky Top, there are limitless opportunities to get involved, make new friends, and make a difference in the local community. There are several student organizations on campus—from fraternity & sorority life to the bass fishing club, all Vols will find their chosen family!
University Housing is much more than a bed, a desk, and a roof over your head. We provide safe, comfortable spaces you’ll be happy to call home during your time at UT—spaces where you’ll sleep, eat, study, play, discover friends, and make great memories—but that’s just the beginning. No matter where you are in the world, you’ll find a Volunteer. There are several opportunities to study abroad and gain hands-on experience that will prepare you for the real world.

The Direct Transfer pathway is designed for students that complete a full year abroad with Verto. If you are only participating in one semester with Verto and are interested in UT, you can apply directly.
The Direct Transfer pathway is designed for students that complete a full year abroad with Verto. If you are completing fall-spring with Verto, you can apply to start at UT in the following fall. If you are completing spring-fall with Verto, you can apply to start at UT in the following spring.
Nursing, Engineering, Architecture & Design, Music, and any of the online programs are not included in the Direct Transfer Pathway. If you are interested in these programs, you would need to apply directly as a transfer student for holistic review.
The Direct Transfer pathway is designed for students that complete a full year abroad with Verto and meet the GPA and credit load requirements. If you are below, you can you can apply directly for holistic review.
If you have previously attended another college or university then you you would need to apply directly as a transfer student for holistic review.
International students are encouraged to apply directly as a transfer student for holistic review.

Once you arrive to your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to UT. Applications are typically sent following mid-terms of your second semester abroad, so both your first semester final grades and second semester mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility
