About Lake Forest College

Lake Forest College is located 30 miles north of Chicago in the historic North Shore community of Lake Forest, Illinois. The beautiful 107-acre campus is within walking distance of the train to Chicago and the shore of Lake Michigan. You will have access to top professors, career counselors, alumni, internships, and research. Classes are small—the average class size is 19—and faculty do all the teaching and advising—you won’t find teaching assistants here.

Nearly half of all students double-major, giving them a competitive edge in pursuing a variety of career fields. Lake Forest College has a long tradition of academic excellence and is known for its innovative curriculum. In addition to majors in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, the College features programs of study in entrepreneurship and innovation, neuroscience, communication, finance, business, data science, and other practical areas.

We prepare our students for, and help them attain, productive and rewarding careers. The Career Advancement Center offers exceptional career counseling as well as a host of networking opportunities with alumni and employers. Every student is assigned a career advisor when they begin at the College. Students are also encouraged to pursue for-credit internships, which are abundant in the Chicago area.
