University of Auckland

13 Weeks in Auckland, New Zealand

Welcome to New Zealand

Register for three to four courses of your choosing (transferable to U.S. colleges) and live on campus at the University of Auckland.

The University of Auckland is a prominent and well-recognized university of distinction. It is New Zealand’s leading university and is the only New Zealand university ranked among the world’s top 200 universities by the Times Higher Education World Rankings of Universities. It is also the highest ranked New Zealand university in the QS World University Rankings and the Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World Universities.

The University will deliver mini orientations for Verto students, allocating a staff member to be our contact person for support and guidance, membership of our study abroad student club and allocating an academic and student buddy from within their Global Studies program to assist with Verto students supporting their academic and personal success while in New Zealand. This provides an in-country residential advisor and guide that gives students a one stop contact for student, parent or Verto queries.

While in New Zealand, Verto students will be treated to full-day introduction to the history, culture and ecology of the city, visiting an extinct volcano, a west-coast beach, the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Transport, entry fees, and lunch provided. Later in the semester, students will take a three-day excursion to the Bay of Islands including visits to historical sites; unique ecological areas; and the National Treaty Grounds where New Zealand’s founding document, the Treaty of Waitangi, was signed. Transport, entry fees, shared hostel accommodation, and meals are provided.
